How would you describe your current role?

As head of production I need to provide our customers all over the world with best-in-class products. This concerns product quality, taste, packaging but also timely delivery.

What do you appreciate most about Hero?

Throughout my career I have been able to work in different departments: consignment, dispatching, export, planning and production. Every time I had a completely new and different role and was thus able to acquire a broad and deep knowledge base. I really appreciate that I have been given this opportunity as it now serves me well especially in understanding different processes and interrelations.

What do you do for fun?

I love to fish as we live nearby a lake. I enjoy the calmness and peace to gain strength and also come up with new ideas. However, I am a bad fisherman and my family would have already famished if they had relied on my fishing skills. Family time is also very important to me and I love to spend time with my wife and three children. I also play tennis and every Wednesday I play soccer together with my Hero colleagues.

What advice would you give job candidates?

I encourage every new hire to contribute all your ideas, even if they cannot be implemented from one day to the other, they will be heard. Perseverance, determination, tenacity and love of the business are keys to success at Hero.
