The Hero Global Technology Centre ("GTC") is the technical institution for the HERO Group infant category, based in Lenzburg (Switzerland).
The GTC coordinates and leads the generation of value through product and technology innovation for the Infant category, as well as provides support in four key areas: (1) development; (2) research projects and science support, including the HERO Institute for Infant Nutrition; (3) regulatory affairs; and (4) quality and food safety.
By innovating, researching and developing products of superior quality, the GTC supports the HERO Group on the accomplishment of one of its ultimate goals: to meet infants’ and toddlers’ nutritional needs in their first years of life.
Innovation in product development is one of the cornerstones of Hero’s strategy and constitutes one of the Group’s major growth drivers. At the same time we place utmost importance on guaranteeing the health, safety and satisfaction of our consumers all over the world. We have a highly-skilled, multidisciplinary team that works together to make our excellence in product development come true.
Even if the generation of innovation takes place centrally by GTC, the execution of such innovation is done through the network of experts at local level, in full alignment with the HERO Group vision of "UNITED local HEROs". For us food is local and therefore we act local while at the same time leveraging our global capabilities and sharing our best practices.
As well, through its Institute For Infant Nutrition, the GTC is also active in providing information and educational materials on a range of infant nutrition topics to consumers and the pediatric community and oversees the development of responsible marketing practices according to legislation procedures and guidelines.
For the generation of knowledge and proven and applicable science, the GTC collaborates with external knowledge partners (universities, hospitals, public research centres, technological institutions) to achieve our objectives and to ensure that Hero remains at the cutting edge of food science.
